Research Cores

JDRF Centre of Excellence includes four integrated Cores Facilities staffed by expert technicians, use extensive existing infrastructure, and build upon unique scientific capabilities of the researchers involved with the centre.

The Centre Core Facilities enable all the Centre’s research Goals and intersect with multiple projects to provide access to key technologies and clinical samples. These Cores enhance research efficiencies as well as increase rigour and reproducibility through the development of standardized platforms and protocols. In addition to the Centre Core Facilities both both the UBC campus and BCCHR sites have outstanding infrastructure dedicated to diabetes research: team members have attracted >$30M funding for cutting-edge diabetes research equipment from the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI), which will enable research in the Centre to apply new technologies across Centre labs and within Centre Cores.
